My Wheels Smell Like Weed...

really strange smell comes from my wheels, smells like weed!!! And I don’t even smoke! Haha

Any idea guys? Seems to happen on short trips , after driving 180mile, didn’t notice it... whereas abit if urban driving over a short distance from cold start. And brakes seem to stink of weed... well at least I think it’s coming from wheel arches!! Seems to be more potent on drivers side.

Funny smell for brake pads, but it’d make sense for them to be... its a 17plate 26k on clock... BMT, so does that mean it has that brake regeneration energy thing?!

Quite possibly...

Though brake regen is more alternator and engine braking used to boost charge the battery.

The brake pads are still used to slow the van down.

yeah real odd smell... genuinely thought it was outside of the van in the atmosphere first time i smelt it, then i realised it was following the van around.. haha , see tomorrow if anyone else has smelt this !

I've read about fake Chinese car parts coming into the UK, Trading Standards said there was a batch of dodgy brake pads that were made from compressed grass, perhaps that's the issue?

I have a wet suit that smells like weed. Its the most bizarre thing and I frequently get strange looks from people when I'm out in my Kayak. That could also be because I look like a seal when I wear a wet suit. Anyway, the reason I'm saying this (not the seal thing, that's just because I'm fat) is there's something in the material of the wet suit that omits the smell.
Now I'm not suggesting you have a wet suit or a seal stuck under your van but do you have anything in the van that is made with or contains neoprene?
