Whilst you’d have no problems acquiring a cherished registration, when you asked the DVLA to assign it to the vehicle they’d check their database then reject your request as they’d see a note to the effect that the vehicle had been scrapped.

Surely it will be rectified now with them recognising its just a f*** up/error ?
