My two-tone camper

This is my 2017 (67) t6 highline. Bought to replace my 2007 2.5 4motion. It started life as a deep black 204 dsg 4motion but after a ding to the rear tailgate ended up with the bottom half in nardo grey and a 90%done camper conversion (just got to sort a rock and roll bed now. The last image shows the damage to the tailgate, but as this was at the height of the lockdown it was immediately written off ☹
As well as the bed, I need to sort a few more small jobs but nothing too major

Had a trip to see Chris at Dav-tec. Had app connect enabled as well as a nav update with speed cameras. Trying to talk myself out of a remap now . Top bloke, really knows his stuff when it comes to VWs

Banded range rover wheels off my t5 fitted today to see what they looked like

winter wheels now sorted, took the original wheels off that the van came with as they weren't weight rated for the T32. Got a set of new take off defender steels and fitted the grabbers to them

I've been thinking about a set of those white defenders......thanks for the pic, gives me an idea of what it might look like.

Got them from the local landrover dealer. Came with new Michelin tyres but had the valves taken out (assuming they were TPMS valves). Have listed the tyres on the various landrover forums for £75 each and if they sell I will have got the wheels for nowt. Going to have a play and try and get some VW caps to fit but the ones off my 19s won't go on, the wheel centre is far too deep and the outside edge of the cap hits way before the cap seats on the bolts. Think the answer is going to be to machine some down by about 8-10mm and they may go on then

Why did you take the valves out?
My son works for LR at Ripon so I'm now harassing him to search the skips and parts containers......

I didn't, the LR dealers had already nicked them. I am guessing they upgraded the wheels to bigger alloys and refitted the valves in them. These wheels and the tyres they came with were brand new

4th set of wheels now fitted but I think this is the one this time

Decided against the plastic side trims so removed them at the weekend. May try the wheel arch type without the door cladding. Anyone wanting a full set of plastic side trims give me a shout (will put in classified section)

No, bought them a few weeks ago but was never happy with the fit and finish of them. Have since seen some arch only type which look much better made and come primed ready to paint so may try them instead

Just back from a week in the Highlands near aviemore. Went in the van but didn't camp this time. The van was great on days out and averaged 31.6 mpg over 1300 miles
