Hola Gang, i've got a question and hope its not a silly one.
I have the radio with the sat nav set up, but when my radio is on and my sat nav too is there a way i can turn off the radio.
I cant see anywhere how to just turn off the radio without turning off the whole set up, but i want my sat nav to stay on.

Maybe i'm being stupid i don't know but please help.

got a pic of the Nav unit you haver?

The Nav speech has a separate volume control . .

so you want radio volume down . . . but nav volume up?

This one
Just want to know how to turn just the radio off without turning the whole set off

why not just press the media button to change the source.?

or you can make the screen go blank?

I just thought it would be as simple as pushing the radio button again to turn it off. ;)

I've not tried this, but do the nav announcements still come on at the pre-set volume even if the radio volume is turned to zero?

You can set your nav volume with the volume controls when the lady is talking.

If you want the radio to go quieter or mute when the satnav lady speaks, you can do that in the settings menu. It's all in the handbook.

You can go into the menu system and set preferred volumes for different sources

I know that this is an old thread, but my mother-in-law has just taken up my Sunday afternoon insisting that the radio in their new car is defective.

She has recently bought a T-Roc and I think that the VW infotainment system is the least pensioner friendly system ever!

My afternoon was largely wasted due to the VW Dealer selling my in-laws what he wanted rather than a car that suited them!

The last thing that is needed for any 80 year old driver is additional distractions!

The idiot of a salesman told my in-laws that they wouldn't want a satnav as they could use google maps on CarPlay.

So, they turn on the infotainment system and struggle like hell to avoid having the radio on and use google maps at the same time. This is seemingly a task which is akin to brain surgery to them both and I wish to god they didn't buy the bloody car!

I tried setting the "start-up volume" at zero in the hope that this would shut up the radio, but maintain the volume in Google Maps. The media volume can only be reduced to level 3 and this also changed the media volume, so the radio still come on quietly whilst Google Maps whispers instructionsto my nearly deaf father-in-law, so all in all this has not been good!

Now every time they set off, they are like some sort of sketch consisting of .... "Can you hear something dear"..... "Watch where you're going"..... "We're lost".... "The bloody sat nav's not speaking to me!".

My explanation (that they don't really have a satnav) sent father-in-law into a grumpy mood, where he just kept on telling me "it does have satnav I've used it! I just need the radio off!"
So, I proceeded to tell him that this was simply an interface showing maps from his iPhone and if he wanted the radio off he simply needs to stop pressing the radio button!

"But sometimes I want the radio on, and then it won't go off!"

So, I told him to open the Apple Music app and then pause the music. This would stop the radio from playing..... This blew his mind!

When I left today, I got the clear impression that they were bewildered and grossed dissatisfied with my explanation! I can't blame them really.... to an 80 year old technophobe, the way that the VW infotainment system works is crazy unless you want to listen to the radio 100% of the time!

My parents couldn't programme the video recorder in the 80's and have refused to embrace any form of technology ever since.

In a way it's just as well they no longer have a car because they'd stand no chance. In there last car they managed to change the language on the infotainment. How the hell they'd done that I'll never know. You had to go through about 15 sub-menus to get to it. I'd kept it simple. Showed them two buttons. Radio and CD. No need to touch anything else, but oh no.
