Insulated and carpet lined the back of the van today / yesterday, super satisfying but my I must have gone through 30 Stanley blades and nicked my hands many many times. Really pleased with the result both aesthetically and acoustically, though the light doesn’t do it justice Not sure I would want to do it again!!!

Outstanding effort and like you say very pleasing know that you have done it yourself.

It looks the excellent, well done @Brindle

Thanks Texxaco. It was quite a fun project all in apart form my hands bloody killing!!
I feel your pain, just finished my doors, scuttle and tailgate. Scratched and cut everywhere. It’s the slices from the blade that hurt the most. Savlon is your friend right now.

Haha im in exactly the same pain, i had to use tar & glue remover to get the felt pads off and someone had used itchy loft insulation and held it in with spray glue. Then I've had to stick the sound deadening pads on and cut myself to shreds on that as well. Not got as far as you though as waiting on SWMBO to decide if rear windows are going in.

I am doing the front doors today, so I think I’m yet to peak from a pain and cut point of view

Finished off my front drivers doors yesterday, great to hear the thud sound when you tap the door skin, gives me a sense of accomplishment to hear that sound..

I also learnt a lot of lessons regarding removing the inner door skins on this task. One is that the door cards mark so easily, thinking I may try my hand at covering them in leather now.

For some reason I couldn’t get the door card to pop off the clips, I removed the 3 screws, turned the cam locks but it just wouldn’t pop off. Decided that I’d done enough this weekend so put the screws back in and had a fry up for brunch instead!

I place a forked trim tool between the door cards and the door clips and prize the door clips open, the door cards is then ready to come off.

Good job there.

I’m sure that’s what it was invented for isn’t it?

Yes you are quite right that’s exactly how it came to market. And we use a medical grade super glue in the community to glue lacerations on peoples heads.

But actually it’s fantastic (used sparingly) for skin cracks in the winter. It probably lasts around 12 weeks. And then eventually falls off.

But takes that cracked skin on your hands pain away. Especially now we are all using so much alcohol gel.
