Mud Flap modification for T6.1

Just for information on the £18-£20 eBay molded mud flaps for multivan with tailgate. Here is the illustration of the cut out required to fit to a T6.1.




I also trimmed the top out to clear the bottom of the door.



I used my usual method with this type of plastic, cut it out Wirth a Dremel or similar tool file flat and use a lighter to melt down any fraying plastic.

Hope this is useful to someone.

Trimming the top to have space between door and the flap is a good advice. Because it will eat off the paint from door corner. Ask me how I know.

When I fitted mine I put the screws in loosely then pulled downward on the mud flap while doing the final nipping up, just to be sure they don't contact the doors.

I did the same with mine, after reading about the rubbing issue. I also drilled a 8mm hole from the inside of the flap out through the bottom, to try and stop the detritus buildup.
