but I’m thinking as a bed solution 2 plates mounted at diagonal opposites inside the van to string a hammock into for when I’m out and about ? Anyone done it yet ?

This did cross my mind for the panel Van. I am also interesting to see if anyone's done it.

Carry a mattress with you to put underneath just in case you fall out.

A friend of mine has it fitted in a vivaro. Works really well. Sadly no photos.

I think that Hughtube fella did it to make a spare bed in one of his vans. Make sure you can sleep in a hammock, I come out of one like Quasimodo for half a day.
