MAF Voltage

Hi all, I've having a recurring issue with the MAF sensor. I've had the 'implausible signal' fault pop up a few times, always the same fault code on VCDS, which then is throwing up random other faults (to be expected).

I have just done a voltage check on the sensor wiring, and am only seeing 5v coming into the MAF. This also correlates to the reading in VCDS when looking at the voltage block in there.

I may be wrong, but I'd assume that it should be 12v coming in, and therefore this is the potentially the root cause. Are there common wiring issues that anyone knows of?

I'm typing this just before I go blown fuse hunting, so will delete this if I find one of those!

Thanks in advance.

A lot of sensors do run on 5V, so this may be correct. If you have already put a new MAF on, and are still getting the codes, the fault will most likely be broken or chafed wires in the loom.
You could use VCDS measuring blocks to look at the MAF readings, and flex the loom to watch for any changes. this may pinpoint where the trouble is.
