Loud engine start / idle

T6 LWB DSG & I’ve noticed on ignition of the engine it’s got a judder / clunk & when sat ticking over in park it sounds quite rattley & loud . When a gear is selected it goes away . Could this be worn engine / gearbox mounts? Cheers

Does the noise go away when you depress the clutch and return when you release the clutch?
That’s generally an indication of needing a new DMF.

Look into DMF.

Dual mass flywheel.

New flywheel and clutch set probably needed.

Oops.... No clutch needed then.

Out of interest, what kind of costs are you looking for a DMF change for DSG & Manual?

*I appriciate this maybe mentioned elsewhere in the forum but good to get recent costs.

I had exactly this ( on a manual ) and it was the front engine mount, had it done 2 weeks ago and it's like a new van now ! My van had done 25 k miles
