Loaded Bikes 'Motorcycle Hauling' solution:

I have been looking for a solution for transporting motorcycles securely in the van for a few years.

I didn't want to use a trailer for various reasons, and as I have posted here before; have been using a DIY wheel chock solution secured using the rear seat mounts. Whilst this was fine for smaller bikes/shorter trips, I wanted something that was a lot stronger for Europe trips/track days etc.

I found the Loaded Bikes website by chance, and called them. I spoke to Dom and Helen and it didn't take long to know that they could do exactly what I was looking for. After the initial conversation and a few emails back and forth with suggested designs etc, we agreed on a solution.

They would supply and install the non-slip 'hex' floor, along with two L-track rails and their modular wheel chock, plus two hooks for gear/clothing one on either side. The design drawings were agreed and the quote was sent to me later that day. I paid a deposit and was given a date when I could drop off the van (they are based in Peterborough).

When I arrived, I said that I had been looking at buying an extra (removable) L-track rail for near the tailgate. When I told him what it was for, Dom suggested a third inset rail would be stronger. So we agreed that this would be added to the order and would be done at the same time.

I collected the van two days later, and was blown away by the quality of work and the way the set-up had been installed. It has been very well designed, with cut-outs in the floor so I can still use the rear seats if I need to. The wheel chock itself can be removed using the billet thumbnuts, just leaving the transverse bar in place, so nothing to get in the way of rear seat passengers.

I would recommend Loaded Bikes to anyone looking for a well thought out, strong and flexible bike hauling solution. I am now looking forward to many stress free trips with my bikes, 100% confident that they are secure and safe in the van.

I wanted to given them a shout-out as I would recommend anyone looking for a similar solution for their van give them a call!

Scott.

Looks very nice and professionally done.

Compared to my DIY attempt, see photo album link below.

Looks a good solution. I did something similar but used a couple of the clips that the rear seats use. It was fine for my enduro bikes or my 690, but not robust enough for a bigger bike (I have a 1090R and a Super Duke).
Will be giving it a major test next weekend as taking one of the bikes to Northumberland to visit family.
All the best.

Those bikes are lovely, but that Commando in particular gave me a semi.
