Leisure battery earthing.

Hi.
I am just running through my battery VSR cable and my under bonnet hook up cable.
My next task is to earth the leisure battery.
A friendly electrician seemed surprised that I would want to earth it to the body. He would rather run a cable from the starter battery instead.
What is the consensus of the forum regarding this. I was going to use the point beneath the drivers seat. Or maybe the very meaty cargo hook bolt? (T6 2019)

Re the VSR I was lead to believe the Charge to Charge converters were a lot of money and that a VSR wouldd be fine and cost a lot less?
If I go for the Charge converter do you have a model in mind?

100% body earth.

The alternator in your van is designed to keep your van battery 80% charged, this means a VSR will only ever charge your leisure battery to 80%

There are loads of DC-DC chargers to choose from. Have a search on here, there's tons of info
