Hi all, my wheel has a little patch where the leather dye is starting to fade out - anyone used one of those leather dye repair kits - looks simple to use but wondered what the finish was like?

I’ve been dying leather for years, not steering wheels I’ll be honest, but leather shoes.
I have always found color matching quite simple really, especially blacks. Personally i like angelus leather dyes, jet black would be the one to use.
You could either blend in the worn area, or redo the whole thing, but I think just gentle blending over the patch to build up the color would be the way.

I recently did my vans, turned out not bad. Went for black thread as it wouldn't show mistakes the same!

Looks decent that. Is the stitching easy? I assume it’s a bit of a pain but worth the effort for a good result

Once you get in the rhythm, it ain't too bad. Plenty of YouTube vids out there to give you an idea. Just don't expect to do it in your lunch break.

Just bought one £6.22👍 did you remove the wheel or can it be done in situ?

No, do it with wheel on. I think it would be too difficult with it off. Just don't do it on a sunny day.

Once done, you'll love the difference
