Kenwood DMX9720XDS Screen Too Bright

Have an issue with my Kenwood DMX9720XDS, no matter what setting I put the Dimmer function on, off or synch, the screen stays the same brightness when the lights are turned on and it is too bright for my liking, distracting at best, spoiling my night vision at worst.
Any other owners have the same issue?

Scratch that, I've found the brightness settings at last, though the darkest it will go is still a bit bright for me.

You can switch the screen at night.

Took me a while to find it but I did mine so it’s
+4 in the day, and -4 at night. Mines a DMX8019 which is different to yours but hopefully will be similar.

Menu, screen adjustment then change the brightness with the lights off, and then put them on and adjust. It should remember each setting.
