A friend had one of the pseudo AC units with the misting function on his boat in Mexico. They used it one season & binned it. It made the interior damp & mouldy. They don’t actually cool the air, they work by evaporation, basically they wet your skin & then blow ambient temperature air over it to cool you. But the water has to go somewhere.

We have A/C in the van, but our faithful Wazoo is still trying to keep the awning cool but not hugely successfully. More just moving hot air around, which is even more uncomfy. So I have just ordered one of these shark fans via French Amazon, who are, as per usual not the fastest with a predicted delivery in a week or so. I just have this horrid feeling that the one that I ordered with the shortest delivery time might be the garish purply pink version. I am however, a rough tough Scotsman( err sort of) so will learn quickly to live with this.

It is, but sort of defeats the object. Letting warm air in to let the moisture out.
It's not AC, it's just a fan..... As you know.
So id always have windows open when it's hot, with a fan on..... I'd only close the van down if I have the engine and AC running.
All other times it's doors and windows open.
Poptop up and vents open.
