Kador popping out of multirail

We have a Reimo multirail on our van and I find that the kador strips pull out of the channel, especially when windy. This is with the larger strip on our cayman awning and when using a drive away kador strip. Anyone found a strip that doesn’t pop out or another solution? I’ve been clamping it at the end with some large clips but even then sometimes it’s not enough.

I remember using a wooden skewer stick to wedge in the end of the channel when we had a naughty Kador strip, it worked on the mischevious end of the strip.

Here you go - simples. There's a double layer of T-Rex Tape (IMHO the best gaffer tape you can buy) on each end that's been on there for at least 3 years years and the kador has never come out of my Reimo Multi Rail since I stuck it on - a single layer would probably have done the job but double made sure of it. Before I did it, the kador always came out eventually especially when the guy lines were really cinched up in readiness for bad weather. Top Tip - Give the kador a wipe with Isopropyl alcohol before sticking the tap on to ensure maximum adhesion.

My Debus awning has started doing this too. I put it down to the hot weather making the beading more soft and flexible....

Could be altho I’ve had the issue when it’s not been hot. Given that you can fit 2 layers of gaffer tape over the top of the strip it seems to me it’s just not tight enough to stay in. Will see how I get on with Ayjays hack

IIRC the multi rail is for a 7 or 8mm kador, slightly larger than “standard”. You can get adapter strips and figure 8 sections to adapt the size.

Yeah in theory that’s correct. But I have an 8mm strip and it still pops out. I think the design isn’t great as the gap is wide enough that it can still pop out with force.
