Is now the right time to buy?

Hi,

I really want (don't desperately need) a new vehicle. Love the new transporters and have around £15-20k to spend.

Im a sole trader (plumber) and currently have a vito thats served me well.

Im terrible with motors so need some advice.

Is now a good time to buy a diesel van? Im just a bit nervous since I can wait as my vito is in good nick and I'm worried that the electric van scene might be worth waiting for 2 years down the line.

Also, if i did go for a T6 I would want, sat nav, air con and decent alarm system and bluetooth. Apart from air con is it cheapest to add these on yourself and go for startline?

Any help appreciated.

All depends on whether you're counting vat!

£18k plus vat will get you a highline.

The electric vans aren't well served in terms of options right now... I'd say it's too early to jump ship (and I've thought about this one for a while!). The vw buzz is a long way off!

Deisel vans have a shelf life of 23 years, despite government rhetoric: they have only said they'd stop production at the end of that time.

Personally, highline is the way to go, because you'll find yourself paying more for startlines with better spec.

As always, ask other people: I'm no expert, just a keen van-fan-man

Never priced up adding Air con as an after fit but imagine it would not be cheap.
Highline for me.
