iPhone charger

What iPhone charger are you using when camping? I’m really bored with the constant tangle of white wires. Ideally, I’d like a wall mounted charger (MagSafe type thing).

What solutions have you got?

Scanstrut mount, while I’m on the road.
Mounted to a piece of 3mm acrylic sheet, tucks under the vent at the top and two 3mm self tappers at the bottom.
I don’t tend to use it when parked up though, a cable is fine for that and I can chose which battery to draw from.

Where do you want the phone?
After reading your post I was thinking about installing a mag safe in a sidewall next to the bed. Would be a safe please for the phone and it could charge.

Assuming the magnet is strong enough to hold the phone vertical.

I had a look for something similar a while ago. Unfortunately there don’t seem to be many (any) MagSafe chargers that have a rear cable to allow it to be surface mounted with the cable hidden. Alternatively, it’s a standard MagSafe charger stuck somewhere and the cable routed to a suitable USB power socket, which doesn’t seem any different than just plugging it in and having a trailing cable!

I ended up putting a couple of USB sockets hidden away on top of the wardrobe and leave the cables there. The phone/ipad/watches can then be tucked away up there to charge. I also have a MagSafe power bank that gives a cable free charge but that of course still needs a flaming cable to charge it!

On top of the wardrobe is a good idea. Two mag chargers or maybe some wires out the top of the wardrobe and permanent wired to power. That would work for me. It would reduce the cable clutter on the counter top.

I’ve got a couple of these for the Apple watches

Im amazed there is not a mag charger that plugs into the 3 pin plug with the mag charger directly on the plug face.

I’ve a couple of similar but I’m not overly keen on them as they run rather warm.

That would only work on EHU though, or inefficiently via an inverter. Surely a USB option is more flexible and efficient?

Be useful at home though.
