Not fitted that, but a Momentary Switch will do the same job, for peanuts. Its a DIY job tapping into the rear release wiring.

Just going back to this thread. I have successfully fitted a momentary switch allowing the tailgate to release, but only when the van is unlocked.
Is there any clarity on coding the van so that the switch will operate when the van is locked?

Bought it and fitted it, plugs had a different locating tang on them which annoyed me a bit (that they didn't supply it with the correct plugs) so had to trim them off. Works fine. Nice to have.
Yeah, appreciate that's a concern. I'd like to think once the van is moving it's clever enough to realise I don't want the tailgate to open ... will have to test that next time I'm on a field.
