Tailgate issue

Hi, I have just purchased a T5 and it has a T6 tailgate already on it.
It has a separate fob to operate the tailgate, however it is working on and off.

I have tried to find the fault, it doesn’t look like the fob has the power to pull the latch up? And that part is coming out of the latch that should pull it up ? If that makes sense?

I am a newbie here, so please be patient and kind. Just looking for a sensible solution, so we can open the tailgate without having to manually pull up from the inside?

Are there any other people here that have done T5 to T6 tailgate conversion please?

Mine has just become intermittent, I.e. I press unlock on the fob, but the tailgate doesn’t unlock (no click noise). Try several times, do lock/unlock, then it works. Dunno if I’m being dull or if the lock mechanism or electrics are at fault. Doors unlock fine. Interested in peoples’ views.

Ok, this worked for me so worth a try;
Open your tailgate, start the engine with the tailgate still open. I ran the engine for approx. 1 minute, turn engine off.
Shut tailgate. Lock van. unlock van and everything was reset and works as normal.
Maybe a different fault that you may have, butat least it's a free fix/try.

This worked. I found a video online (maybe yours?!). Opened the tailgate via the internal switch. Engine on. Everything off/closed/locked. All good again.
