To technical for me Ray, is that where I would plug my Carista into?
My intelligent charger has a cigarette lighter plug on the end of it, that’s why I asked.
@Paul Binding. In my 2018 Highline it does but I don't know whether it's the same for all models. In winter, I tend to leave the van leisure system hooked up and plug my Ctek smart charger into a 240V socket and the lighter socket so it all stays in the van. Outside of winter, solar keeps everything topped up nicely on its own. Somebody else will quickly correct me if I'm wrong but I think if you test 12V socket with ignition off and find it's live then the charger will work in the other direction as well.
Yes, as long as the socket is permanently live (like it is in mine).
Just don't put more than 10A through it as it will get warm. I only use my 5A Ctek charger this way.
I have a 2017 high line, my charger is a Ctek so if I were to run an extension lead out to the van and plug my charger into the lighter socket,I am doing the same as you?

Some peoples 12V socket on top of the dash isn't permanent live, so they use the 'cigarette lighter socket' which is....
You'll need to work out which one is live with ignition off....
I use one of these connected to the battery, i find it makes a better contact for optimising charging and acts as a quick connection point without having to shut doors on cables when using cigarette socket....
It will depend on your charger, but they're available for most...
