Renewed last week with Howdens… dropped £50 from last years cost …. Got this years for £504 with agreed value agreed for 2 years …. More than happy with that … 🤟… carry on camping ⛺🍺☀️👍

Van insurance due...last year Carole Nash was the best price at £420 but they want £524 this year....grrr...tried Flux who came in at £591, bit steep....then Howdens who came in at £352 ( £520 last year)...how does all that makes sense I've no idea as nothing has changed apart from me and my van are a year older!! The lottery continues.:think smile bounce:

My main issue with Howdens, aside from the preposterous amount of questioning that even Flux didnt feel necessary, was their T&Cs.

To say they were pernickety and onerous was putting it mildly. For example, in the event of a theft claim the policyholder is supposed to produce a certificate confirming a cat 2 immobiliser is fitted. Well, all cars and light vans sold in the UK since 2002 (and in many cases well before) have a cat 2 immobiliser as standard, and no one receives such a piece of paper when they buy a new vehicle. Its simply another T&C to trip up the unwary and tip the scales in the underwriters favour.

I was quite glad when they turned out not the be the least expensive.

It was the lack of Agreed Value that made me cancel Aplan/Howdens in favour of Mr Flux. £400 this year, with AV.
yeah appreciate that....im taking my chances. Im not a big fan of Fux after they scammed me on my classic car policy a few years back...stupidly paid it all up front thinking that if i cancel mid term they would refund me the difference (like insurance companies used to)...but did they hell!!

Hi All,

Been out of the Insurance & Tax & MOT game for some time now having had a company car for the last 10 years.
What should i roughly be expecting to pay for all of the above now-a-days? I'm completely out of the loop !!

Assume the Van in question is T6 Fully Camper on V5 16-18 plate (Circa 25-30k in value) - Any advice really appreciated.

I just re-insured with caravan guard T6 with 8000 miles per year & Howdens never even got back to me. Oh it had gone up about £40 from last year to £504. I might have been able to trim it down or continued looking, but I’d had enough 50 questions.
