Convert to day van insurance

I’m really confused on trying to get insurance for a van I hope to convert. Sone insurers are saying it won’t be a camper because it won’t have a permanent cooker and sink.
I will basically be putting something similar to what the Ply Guys do. A bench into a bed and storage cupboards. It will have windows on the side. That’s it really, sone mods on the outside like wheels and suspension.
So who do I go to for insurance AF and Just Kampers have quoted £700 I’m waiting on Howdens although a few weeks ago they quoted me £430 for a different van.
Do normal can insurers do day can cover?
Any advice gratefully accepted.

So long as you inform the insurers about the mods you mentioned then you should have no issues if the worst was to happen.
Not sure about day cover.

I called them they were next to useless, I honestly think the lad there didn’t have a clue, pulled a random figure out then when k tried to question how it would work he didn’t know, I just put the phone down on him. Terrible service.
