Ignition barrel

Has anyone had any issues with the ignition barrel. Did the weekly shop and when to start engine to go home i couldn't turn the key.

A small triangular piece of magnetic metal came out stuck to the key. Eventually managed to get it started to get home but is still very hit and miss.

I had similar on my T5, there was a small metal plate that covered the key entry point when the key was withdrawn and it jammed up one day and I couldn’t get the key in, can’t remember the fix but think it involved a shove with a screwdriver to jam it out the way but wouldn’t do that to my T6, I would take it to dealer with the metal piece and get them to fit a new barrel

Thats the plan. Due for an oil service anyway. Just glad i was close to home.
