Ignition and windows opened spontaneously

I have a VW T6.1 , which is a campervan conversion with a pop top roof. This morning as we lay in bed , the ignition spontaneously started and both front door windows opened . The engine didn’t start. The ignition switched off and the windows remained open within a minute. I then switched the ignition on with the key and closed the windows . Then started up the engine and switched it off. Both key fobs were untouched . However we had the pop top roof down overnight due to heavy rain . We put the roof up this morning and could hear a lot of rainwater running off the roof when we did this. Obviously some water had collected on the roof overnight ( the roof has ridges and has a solar panel) The ignition started and the windows opened about within about 1-2 minutes after this . So I’m guessing it was something to do with water ingress from this . Should I do anything about this or just leave it to dry out

Actually , I believe I now know what may have done this. We had a spare set of keys in our tent set up nearby . Unfortunately the keys were in a slight pool of water . When I took the keys out , the van did the same thing— triggered the ignition and the windows to open . So I’m fairly certain it wasn’t water ingress into the drivers door but due to the key fob getting quite wet . Now drying it out but wonder if people would have any suggestions about whether I should do anything else with the key fob

The water will be shorting out the unlock button and activating the convenience opening/closing.
Chuck the fob in some rice to dry it out.
You can turn off the windows setting if you are worried it will happen again.

Thank you. I've opened the fob up , and removed the battery .Just leaving the open fob dry over the next 24-48 hours and will replace the battery and then see if it works ok . In case I need to , do you know how to turn off the window setting ? —presumably somewhere in vehicle settings on the infotainment screen ?

Convenience windows can be turned off by disconnecting the battery on a T6. Not sure about a 6.1 but maybe worth a try?
To get it back (on a T6) you have to reprogram it by following a sequence with the window button in each door card. A search of the forum will show you how.
