How Are You Doing ?

I have had VW cars for over 20 years and have never had so many visits back for warranty work as with my
2017 T6 150 Highline
It may be not many compared to other folk, so far I have had :
Rain water in the tailgate, caused by the high level brake light cover.
Puddle of rain water on the side doorstep, caused by the sliding door window, which has been replaced.
Flat battery which needed the AA man (via VW) and yes I can now see I have one of those Moll batteries.
I have now “lost” the interior fan, nothing or full blast at setting 4,
Its now with my local (35 miles) VW Van centre to be checked.

OK its nothing major, they are just a pain, and a loss of a day everytime, but whats is going on, there are enough reports of these problems listed on here, and they aren’t holding the parts, or do a recall to fix. Shambles.

It is a shame, all those points you mentioned have been raised before.

T6 Common Faults & Problems - - Check Here First -

the only comforting thing to take from it is that every fault/warranty claim the goes back to VW Factory for them to assess and rectifiy, that way we get better revised parts that last longer.

ie:

Mol battery fiasco,
blower motor resistor pack
sliding windows leaking
tailgate water - this one is just bad luck on your part i think.

but with hope you will come out the otherside with a better set of parts.

Ours:
MY18 204 DSG PV 8k, so far.
warranty rear door lock assembly
warranty 2nd AUX Moll battery

.

Oct 2017 204 DSG 40k.
Other than a sliding door lock issue which seems to have fixed itself, and a cracked EGR pipe that cost £17 and took 30 mins to swap over, no major problems and no warranty work as yet.

Less than a year old , 150 T6 manual , 9k miles - and TBH just about to lose my sh@t .
5 visits to VW with engine management light on 4 times . Dealer " awaiting fix " from VW and VW customer care " sorry " but offering nothing .
My previous T5 / 5.1 were great , this van has given me issues every trip away .

Fine apart from that ......

Coming up to its 2nd birthday in a couple of weeks and no warranty issues yet. I'm probably going to regret saying that now aren't I...

Feb 2018 204 DSG Highline Kombi, 11k

Egr flush and egr pipe replaced after the van threw an engine light, other than that it’s had both complete sliding windows replaced under warranty. It’s going in for it’s first oil service in two weeks. To be honest I think the van is great. Thirsty mind

Air con compressor failure at 7000 miles.
DRL bulb holders (H7 headlights) melting at 25K. In to dealer for a fix next week with that. Will see how that goes and update. Apparently VW know of the issue and have a fix kit. 1 month left on warranty.

I think I have mostly been lucky. EGR fault a few weeks back, AA man came out and cleared it, but it soon came back.
Booked to go into dealers on Tuesday. Other than that, no problems really.
I do find the dealers unhelpful. I was quoted around 6 weeks before they would even look at the van, to diagnose a fault i`m sure is the egr again

2016 T32 180 DSG 4motion 13k Second service at local garage they find an oil leak, dealer needed van for 2 days to drop gearbox and seal the thread on a bolt that goes through the crank case where the oil is getting through (Known fault on DSG boxes).
First MOT today failed big time, drive shaft had parted from ball joint and made a right mess, I have just come back from a 35o mile trip, the garage said that I was very lucky that a disaster didn't happen. Phoned the dealer and they said was I blaming them! They won't own up to it but they will repair it all under warranty but I have to get my van transported 15 miles to them as it can't be driven. I have lost faith in dealers.

Update to my original posting, Good News
Pleased to say that my VW Van dealer, (Swansea) got it all sorted and had the parts, so new battery and replaced heater resistor.
