Hose behind the dash?

Hi All,

I have a serious leak in the passenger footwell (right side, its LHD). Today I removed the glovebox and noticed a hose fitting (I guess). Is something missing?

On a rhd , there’s a ac hose that runs out the front of the vehicle , if this is detached would cause the footwell to get wet. It may be the same for LHD?

Depending on the spec level of your van, that is where the a/c branches off to give you a cooler function in the glove box. I think it's only on high spec or Comfort Dash versions. The leak may still be a/c related but unless you have the cooler function, there is nothing missing from that pic.

Thanks. My van doesn't have the cooler function. I think I will drive around without all the panels and glovebox for a while.
Btw I have to drive for it to leak. When parked in the pouring rain, everything remains dry.

If you don’t have the duct to the glove box (for it to be cooled) maybe that outlet should be blocked off? If it were open and cold air was venting from it then I guess condensation would build up on warm parts - which is maybe why there is some surface rust locally?
Turn the air con on and see if cold air comes out that hole (if not it must be capped off internally and the problem is something else).

Nothing will come out of the tube shown in the photo until it is all connected up to the main a/c system. The fault does seem to point to a leak / blocked air con drain but that vent/hole behind the glove box isn't the culprit (or connected to anything) maybe there is a cracked pipe / bad junction somewhere else? As @Lubrown says
