Glovebox/Cupholder Rattle

I have the most annoying rattle from behind around the glovebox in my T6.1. I have taken it out, I have applied fabric tape on all contact points, felt pads, changed the hinges for metal bolts, but I can not get rid of it!

It's not from inside the glovebox. When I press against the right hand side of the door, it goes away. Same if I put my hand on the surround of the cupholder.

Only happens at low speeds, especially when reversing

Any ideas?!

I had a noise in that area. Mine turned out to be something to do with the heater matrix. I stuffed a rag between the heater feed and return pipes where they disappear in to the bulkhead, under the bonnet, and the noise stopped. For a permanent fix i put a cable tie around the two pipes and tensioned it a little.

I also had one similar direction (from the drivers seat) and turned out to be the A pillar trim buzzing against the dash.

I recently retrieved some as new flip flops from the bin (daughter didn’t like them) they make excellent foam wedges!

I saw that when i AI'd it, that even loose pillar handles can travel down and it sounds like the glovebox. But in my case, it goes away when i hold the glovebox door - so assuming it isnt that?
