Not that we're nosy buggers, eh @Sackmycook?Hi Jack, welcome to the Forum, we especially like photos of new van purchases and we get to see what your house and drive look like too.....
8ball - came recommended by a few peeps. Hopefully good choice.Hi, which converter?
Just been looking at off grid set upHeard good things about them, yes.
I’ve used Snugcampers in Milton and continue to do so.
Just been looking at off grid set up, £4k for a couple of lithium batteries , 1600 watt solar panel and a sine wave inverter what ever that is and that included an induction hob as they said no point keeping gas then. Lot of coin but it would be a bit more future proof I guess.
Lmao! 160 watt - too many zerosA 1600 watt solar panel?!?!? How big is that panel?
Will you be towing one of these things...

We hardly cook in the van, usually a kettle for a brew or boil water for spuds/pasta etc. most of our cooking is done outside on either the BBQ or stand-alone boiling ring. Both run off the Gaslow plumbed in gas. My point being that sticking to all electric & not having gas, may limit your options.Just been looking at off grid set up, £4k for a couple of lithium batteries , 1600 watt solar panel and a sine wave inverter what ever that is and that included an induction hob as they said no point keeping gas then. I was gonna say! My conversion will come with a 300 watt panel and that takes up almost all of the available roof space on a LWB. Admittedly, I booked the conversion over a year ago (delayed factory order) and tech is constantly advancing, but surely not that quickly I was thinking.Lmao! 160 watt - too many zeros
You can pick up portable plug in induction hobs for around £30. If you have one built in & it goes faulty, you have to replace it like for like to fit the hole in the worktop. Same would apply to a gas hob, but if you stick to mainstream suppliers like Smev/Dometic etc, you’ll easily replace a gas hob easily & cheaply. The induction hobs are still in their infancy. It’s your call, I’m just being the pessimistic Yorkshireman.Yeh I know what you mean, I use camping stoves etc and will also cook outside. The induction job can be used outside too I’m told. It’s just a lot more of dosh. I just don’t want to get it built and then suddenly think I wished I’d done it at the build stage.
