Help with Cobra (Vodafone?) Alarm

Hi,

I'm hoping somebody can help me with a recommendation.

I bought a converted T6 towards the end of last year. I've got an intermittent problem with the alarm where it goes off after I've locked the van - it doesn't happen all the time (probably about 1 in 20), but I have to wait next to the van for a minute or so after I've locked it just to be sure.

I've had plenty of advice of what the problem might be - but I'm having trouble finding someone to investigate it and fix it for me. I took it to a local alarm specialist who couldn't help because it's a Cobra (Vodafone?) unit. If anybody can recommend someone in the Southampton (ish) area I'd be very grateful.

Hiya bud,

2 things to check:

Does it have a factory alarm and if so, are the original ultrasonics still plugged in? They can cause a false trigger with the Voda ultrasonics.

When it next goes off, unlock the van and count how many times the Voda LED flashes, that will indicate what triggered the alarm.

I’m just waiting to hear back for any local installers that deal with the Voda alarms so I can refer you.

Thanks for this. I assume it's got a factory alarm because it's a 2016 Highline model (camper conversion) - in fact I thought it did but only discovered it was aftermarket when I took it somewhere to get it looked at.

The couple of times I've caught the LEDs there have been 5 flashes.

Also I can't see any sensors in the cabin - I assume they should be visible?

5 flashes is boot trigger so it’s detecting your rear doors/tailgate opening.

How long has the alarm been installed?

I had exactly the same alarm and same issue, it was my sliding side door that was triggering it intermittently, I’ve since had a new door lock and it’s been fine since .

No idea I’m afraid. I got the van in October, bought through a converter who sourced it through a lease company. Could have been in years I guess.

Just to update this - I had a new barn door latch fitted which seems to have solved the problem. (It would have been a relatively cheap visit to the van centre if it wasn't for the cam belt/water pump/aux belt/turbo/egr valve!!)
