Help Needed With My Forthcoming T6.1

First of all apologies for something that has been covered many times but after having conflicting help from many people I’m hoping for some advice from people in the know or have some actual experience of what I’m after.
I have my first transporter arriving soon, t6.1 199 4 motion starlight blue panel van and obviously looking forward to it.
Now to the dilemma, not only is it being used for work it’s also going to be a bit of a daily, the problem lies with my fishing and going across fields and down quite rough roads a lot.
Now as much as I’d love to put b14s and 20’s on it (like a lot of people have said yes it will be fine) I’m still thinking I don’t want the headache of constantly worrying about it.
The problem is these vans do look a lot better with some modifications! I’m kinda thinking either leave it the hell alone or perhaps go 18 inch sportline 2’s in satin black and just change the springs lowering it 30mm, then I can go front splitter, Black side bars and rear spoiler making it into what I’d like. I believe this option apart from leaving it standard will be better for my warranty too.
If it wasn’t for going off road (not proper off roading by the way) it wouldn’t be an issue but I just want to do it once correctly or not at all.
If anyone has any pics of sportlines on starlight blue transporters with these other mods or advice on this it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Evening TB, I’ve got 20” wheels, side bars, sports line front spoiler etc
I live in a very remote area in Devon and the lanes I drive are bad
( pot holes you could lose your dog in, grass more than tarmac)
But if you drive carefully you’ll be fine
As we say down here, there’s drivers and there’s screwdrivers!
Be steady and it’ll be fine
Skinns

Similar setup ..no roof bars...to what ur looking at.....but it’s grey !!

Cheers pal, standard supension or have you lowered it?

Yes it was the 30mm VW option ( Eibach springs) Not so much roll on corners but a few months ago I had Koni dampers fitted and it’s even better and still kept 30mm springs ....for me it’s about comfort and how the van sits on the road.

If you do change ur wheels go for all season tyres (mine are crap on grass.....):thumbsup:

Mmmmmm sorely tempted with your set up.
I’m running on 17”Devonports but to me it still looks just a little bit too DPD delivery van like, plus rolls in corners like a lumbering tortoise.

Was thinking about playing safe and going for the 30mm Eibachs alone or would you recommend digging deep and going for the dampers as well

From all the research I’ve done and from my own experience over the years too, it’s always best to upgrade your shocks when fitting lowering springs if you can afford it. The spring will lower the ride height, but rarely improves the ride. A good quality shock matched with the lowering springs can work wonders.

CRS Performance did the Koni dampers this was after I meet them at BusFest and had a long chat about what I wanted and listen to my needs, none of it is cheap ......Each van is slightly different so one size won’t fit all .....On hindsight if your going to take the van apart for the springs and then pay for tracking etc...change dampers at same time as one setup....
Lots of good trade guys will give the help and advice just need to ask.....but I’m really happy with my setup :unsure:

Cheers buddy!
I’m still a relative newbie with the whole camperthing. We got ours in October as a day van/weekender and use it most weekends and as a general run around. It’s a T28 150bhp so plenty of oommfff IMHO, Gastore underslung tank with a Propex heating hence camping all through winter.
Like most have already worked out that the H4 lights are diabolical, apart from that we love it.
When it comes to the suspension thing I struggle to understand my ‘coil over’ from my Bilstein!

The best thing for me is to speak to a body specialist with my requirement and see what they say.

So roughly for a set of 30mm lowering springs, new dampers, bushes? + tracking what sort of damage am I looking at?

cheers
