Hi all, after my vinyl headlining failure im now re doing it with fabric and glue! The thing is i really like the look of those LED round lights you see in lots of headlinings, so.....how easy are they to fit? Im a cabinet maker so making up new panels and cutting round holes is no problem but im hopeless with electronics so unless its 'very' straight forward i'll just have to refit the standard lights, is there a plug and play type conversion kit out there??

Cheers Si.

I found it easy and I am scared of doing electrics.

I wired straight into the existing headlining lights and added two more leds so that I have 2 leds as courtesy light and two that are operated by a dimmer switch that leads to the leisure battery that I had fitted:thumbsup:the dimmer switch had instructions how to wire:thumbsup:

I am slightly in the same dilemma as you.

I am not happy with the headlining that I fitted with cab matching material and I looked at getting an Alcantara one but as I am going to put a leather front headlining in I am now looking at leather options for the back too.

Hi Richard, I've looked at the standard lights and they seem to have a plastic plug that looks like it pushes into the light unit? So how did you wire into that?

Cut the plug off you are left with 3 wires,a red, a brown and a brown/red

the red is live and the two browns are timed neutral and permanent neutral.

if you want them to operate as a courtesy light wire to red and timed neutral

if you want to operate via a wired in or incorporated switch then wire to red and permanent neutral.
