Headlight Lens Peeling -shuttle

Just a quick one to check if other owners have had the same issue I’ve spotted- the clear UV(?) Coating on my standard shuttle headlight lens has peeled/flaked off in a lot of places leaving the plastic lens to get easily scratched underneath. Only just noticed it. It’s only been handwashed since I got it from VW.

I’ve seen it is common on the older Astra/Focus as the headlights yellow (mine aren’t that bad yet) but wanted to check if others had similar issues before I pop down to VW to raise a potential warranty claim. Thank you.

Hi. Did you get anywhere with this? One of mine seems to have done similar. 65 plate

Take it to a bodyshop that does ceramic clear coating as normal lacquer is to soft and thick and will chip off in time.

VW replaced the headlights no bother under warranty. May have been the only time some of those words have been used in the same sentence….

Ah ok. Do you know how old the headlight was when it was swapped out. I’m not sure they’d swap an 8 year headlight. I may have to just get it re-laqured
