Heading West

Well tonight is the last night away, only 250km from home.
Washed mud from van at a commercial car wash before we hit the more settled areas. Looks much more like normal, no 2 toned effect.

Van performed flawlessly over 7000km and wind direction made a big difference to fuel consumption.
Unfortunately a lot of headwinds but can't do much about that.

Diesel prices much dearer in the middle of crossing the Nullabor , but it is a big distance to transport it.

Dirt roads highlighted to me that I must get a more off-road type of tyre as I only have 2 wd , luckily my tyres are nearly due for replacement.

Well a few pictures to finish this off.

I’ve been loving the tales your odyssey @AussieMick. My brother has lived in Brisbane area since the ‘70s and now has dual citizenship. Since retirement and with the kids all gone their separate ways he’s keen to become a “Grey Nomad” and spend a few years doing circuits of Australia. His wife though, needs a bit of persuasion as she’s a bit of a home girl. Hope you don’t mind if I sent some of your stuff. The pictures and stories might just tip the balance in his favour.
