102 is low on engine power for a heavy rear conversion, but not totally useless.

The 102 comes with the 5speed box, which is not the best, versus the 6 speed box.

75k is low miles for the age so that's good.

Standard mechanical things that need doing you will have had done.(Most)

Ie

Cam belt and water pump.
EGR
DMF.... Not mentioned above.


So if you're a standard conversion, doing standard camping and not touring Europe for the next 5 years you should be good.


Post some pics of your van and document your journey.

When there are four or five of us and luggage it struggles on long or very steep hills a bit but most the traffic around us does too.
I like the 102 and won’t rush to change it, especially now the kids are of the age we don’t always take them. If I win the lottery I’d only go to a 150. The 204 would leave me fretting as I also overthink.

Same thinking - im not in a rush even up hills. Fast car next to me are great but they can’t make a cup of tea or have a bacon butty.

When I hear of 7 hours motorway standstills (lucky not been in one) I have no fears - free park up and self sufficient (although annoying).

When do you get it ?
We've got a 102 (had for 10 years) , sold a 300bhp estate car to get it and dont reget it at all .
Its not as fast, or as luxurious but it makes me smile and we have made many happy memories while owning it .

Our company run vans for three years on the usual lease deals the rules are strict on servicing and returning in good condition and penalties are high for none compliance

Most companies will try to return to.lease companies vans with zero faults and all damage sorted as the next lease cost is measured in cost on previous returns
Unfortunately the vans are small Peugeot professionals otherwise would have gone for.one of the better ones
As with transporters there's better ones that don't need as much spending as others but you get to see what's been spent as companies usually can't afford to have them sat around as they pay whether they move or stand

The van is for enjoyment, not stress. Sounds to me like the dealer is giving lots of “not going anywhere” signals.

I suspect you may be suffering a mild dose of “buyer’s remorse” which kicks in after any major purchase.

If you wanted a performance car, you wouldn’t have bought a van! However, the van will force you to chill as you drive, relax in a snarl-up, smile widely at a wave and realise that all is well in your world (whilst still having an ability to shift it if you put your foot down!)

Chill out and enjoy living what you dreamt about!

Hey! Yes, got the van. I’m in love with it. Totally agree that buyers remorse was in play! We’ve been away a few times camping already and love it. Touch wood no major issues. Minor issue seems to be like 1/20 times it takes a couple of gos to start it. But I have it booked in the garage next week for a general inspection. I’ve set aside a pot of money to just deal with whatever may come about and then just enjoy the van without stressing!!!

It definitely has changed the way I drive and to honest I prefer it!

Hey Hey. I need some help from the community to get out of panic mode!

I’ve paid the deposit on a conversion after many years of saving. It is an old van, but new conversion from a local conversion company. The spec is T6 SWB Startline T30 102, 5 speed. 75,000 miles, ex-EON trade van. Full service history, but shows EGR replacement 25k miles ago. Dealer is replacing cam belt and water pump before collection.

When I read these forums, a combination of the above facts is making me doubt myself now whether this is a good move or not.

The positive is that the dealer is providing a 12 month warranty on both base van and conversion, which gives me some confidence.

I’m a chronic overthinker and now slightly worried I’ve put my life savings (£35k) into something that is going to cause me no end of hassle.

I’d appreciate the value of the community!!

Hi it sounds like a good van to me, I've just bought a T6 to replace my T5 after 19 years 260000 miles original engine gearbox didn't use oil from service to service only let me down once, if you have fsh cant see a problem treat it with care & enjoy pretty sure you won't regret it!!!

Nice van !
We love ours, just went for a drive out a couple days ago and swmbo turned to me and said its so nice being in the van. It does make you smile when you drive it. Mine is a manual and I really enjoy 'driving it'. I also absolutely love the forward vision of sitting up high in the cab compared to the car.

I was really worried about stuff breaking or broke but the mechanic I use is just brilliant. He has shown me that virtually everything can be fixed and with maintenance they will chug on and on.
