Hardwired Dashcam and DAB Radio T6.1

Hi Everyone,

I have had an issue with the DAB radio since I got the Dashcam hardwired. The DAB radio is loosing signal, radio stations are coming on and off. Problem goes away when the car is stationary and in Park on the DSG. If I remove the Dashcam the problem goes away.

I got the kit from amazon and had it hardwired from the Main Dealer in Northampton. Any ideas what could be causing the issue and what steps should I be taking to fix this. Also what fuse port should the Dashcam be plugged into?

Thanks everyone

DAB radios are susceptible to electrical interference from various devices. The DAB radio in our Skoda doesn’t work as soon as I plug in one specific USB charger, and starts again as soon as I remove it.
Obviously in your case it is something in the dashcam - can you post an Amazon link to the camera ?

This is easily solved it’s a common issue on golfs tbh especially if it’s nextbase dash cam all you need is a ferrite core no issue with how many you fit but the trick to it is to loop the wire through the core instead of just clipping it over it

Hi Nik

It is a Nextbase Dashcam. I shall try this and report back. Have to look for a spare one in the garage.

Depends how long the cable is it won’t hurt to fit more but I’ve found if you loop the wire through near the camera it works better sorry for crap drawing but like this

I always make sure to run cables away from main looms also to try and eliminate any noise (emf) such a pain in the arse on modern systems
