Half illuminated warning lights - Traction & Fuel?

The vans been stood for about 5-7 weeks, I put the engine battery on charge a couple of times during that time. (Pos on Batt & neg on chassis).

Been out today and noticed on starting that two warning lights are illuminated at half strength. It's the Traction Control & Fuel Warning. Anyone got any ideas why these two? Are they on the same circuit. I'm guessing there is a loose connection somewhere, or worn / damaged wire causing cross power somewhere.

Anyone had anything similar, ideas??

Have you driven it yet ?
Think i would take it for a spin then lock it up and leave it for a bit then see what you got
Do you have a scan tool ?
Any fault codes ?

Thanks @Pauly no not yet, currently isolating with Covid, will give it a run tomorrow. No don't have a scan tool so can't give any codes. I may disconnect the battery and connect the Pos & Neg leads to "factory reset" before I take it on a run.

Some of the lights are fed from direct circuits from those sensors, normally when you see a number of lamps lighting up dimly it points to a bad earth that might be common to those circuits.

Only fuel level, windscreen washer, coolant, ambient temperature & brake fluid warning senders have common sensor return.
The rest of Instrument Cluster indicating LEDs are "fed" by the CPU or GND "signal".

Thanks @Loz @Robert I will give it a run tomorrow and go around checking the GND's / earth's when I get back.

I am not sure what fixed it, but a good hour run, reset main battery leads and checked all GND points (all tight) and the dim warning lights have gone.

Could have been damp weather / sat in rain for many weeks / low engine battery voltage.... Who knows?

Thanks again to the forum for your continued assistance.

I started getting random lights, interior lights not working etc when my battery was dead. Fitted a new battery, all good again! Check your battery voltage, a bm2 is well worth the money to keep an eye on these things

hey everyone. I drive a 2012 vw golf wagon TDI. The other day after needing to boost my vehicle.
I have the same issue with my dash, with a half illuminated traction control and even less than half the windshield washer tank.
