H4 Daylight Running Lights to LED

Hi,
I suspect I'm gonna be pushed to other posts, but I'm just after LED bulbs for the DRLs on my T6 with H4 Lights. Do the error warnings pop up on these, or can i just get any P21W LED bulbs off ebay or Amz and these are fine? Also any recommendations on bulbs?
Thanks.

I'm guessing you will get an error.

Twenty20 leds have worked in my reverse and H7 DRLs, but I don't know about P21W.

I fitted the h4 drl led bulbs from Travelling-lite transporters about 3 years ago with no errors since. Not cheap but excellent output.

Ok thanks for this, I'll have a look into them. From a bit more digging round t'interweb, it doesn't look like errors pop up with the DRL replacement with LEDs, but only one sure way to find out...

The first time I tried to upgrade the Drl s to led I tried ones from Halfords, no errors and worked fine for year or so then one failed, had a five year warranty so Halfords gave me a replacement foc, this one failed after a couple of months. At vw for a service and told the led bulbs not suitable so went back to the halogens which worked but pretty rubbish output. Looking for led upgrade for reverse lights found the travellin- lite drl s which have been fine since fitted.

Aren't the powers that be trying to get dazzling lights reduced, probably aimed at headlights rather than running lights. As for error's I'm guessing that the current is monitored (probably just a set value) i.e. 7A ok less than 3A error it just depends what the LED takes. Roughly 10% of halogen for a similar output. Someone on here will know.

thanks, I'll not do LEDs for the headlights for that reason, gonna try the osrma nighbreakers or similar halogen when I get a chance.

I can thoroughly recommend the Philips GT200 bulbs for the H4 lights. Just make sure you buy them from an authorised dealer (auto bulbs direct or Powerbulbs) as there are lots of fakes on eBay and Amazon.

Really appreciate the advice on the H4 bulbs, have been sifting through a lots of threads to try to find the best option. I assume no errors on the Philips either?
