Grippy loose fit carpet type stuff?

I've got a Slidepod which has the frame and bed board on top. The surface is really smooth and slippery, so looking for some kind of cost effective covering which I can just lay on top so I can use it as a parcel shelf without things sliding off. Needs to be loose fitting so I can just lift off when reverting to bed duties.

Any suggestions please?
