Gateway and Battery Coding Questions

Hiya,

Have just installed Yuasa 75AH battery in T6; as my original 2018 battery was probably shot. Only charged to 12.21V on a run; then a couple of days later 11.9V.
Van has not been getting the use to keep charge. Thought 6 years was a fair wack for a battery. Been having some issues for a while; occasionally having to use a jumper pack.

Anyway been a bit confused about where and how to code/reset the battery in VCDS; I have no idea of the state of the firmware in any on the controllers; as been quite a while since been into a VAG dealer; to get any updates.

I suspect I have managed to program battery up as a 75AH, Varta with a dummy serial of 0000000001.

This was done in settings for battery controller; but not going via gateway controller menus. Have got a bit confused watching many youtube videos for doing settings; some being done with BIM's, and various flavours of menus; all highly dependant on firmware versions and software versions being used. I loaded by VCDS version 26.something or other; (latest version as of today).

Could not find anywhere to configure AGM, EFB battery tech? No way to program rated CCA?
Is there anything else that I need to set?

Having worked on electronics with lipo pouch cells and lipo controllers; where the BMS only probably needs to know capacity, voltage, and soem thresholds for charge cutoff to maximise cell life an efficiency; enough for electronics of gauge SoC, SoH etc. I suspect the AGM, EFB, flooded cell thing might affect some of the thresholds; but where to program? Probably just overthinking it all as usual.

So besides the battery configuration; there was the lack of adaptations in the gateway menu? Kind of found this a bit worrying.

Watch my video for more info; if forum lets me upload a 18Meg file?
Any pointers; have I done enough?

All the best,
Owain

PS. Also timestamps on all fault codes seem to be way out in future; imaginary. Where can one program the date and time into the system so that error timestamps are believable?

For T6 all battery coding is done under module 61 - see below

Unfortunately some T6 controllers use a deviating date format hence dates are not what one would expect. However, the mileage is correct, as well as time. Nothing you can do.

It never ceases to amaze me the difference in VCDS when plugged into different vehicles (ie T6 to T6.1) even for coding a battery.

A couple of points to add, my OEM battery was coded as EFB (I just realised I didnt check.) It was also a Varta but wasnt coded as such.

Anyway as to the above, if you have an AGM battery there wont be AGM in the battery tech selection, from my research you need to select FLEECE.
You dont input the CCA but you should make sure the Ah is correct.
