Gateway control module

I have have multiple can bus problems and I have remove the radio unit
to get at infotainment can bus.

The signal on both the can bus high and low have a lot of overshoot so I
disconnected the battery.

With no power there is a voltage of 1.2 volts across the can bus high
and low which makes it impossible to read the resistance.

If I put a 150 ohm resistor across the high and low the voltage goes to
zero.

I am guessing i have a bad connection with moisture.

Would you agree so far?

The problem I have now is to locate the gateway control module?

Is it part of the Body Control Module on the T6 Transporter?

Yes the can gateway is integral to the BCM on a T6 (2015-2019) and it is a separate module fitted behind the cluster on a T6.1 (2019-2025)

The only module missing on your scan is 17 the instrument cluster, have you checked CAN and power going to the blue plug in the rear of it ?

Im of course assuming the stereo has been replaced with aftermarket and thats why its not showing otherwise they are both missing

The radio is factory supplied startline L56VW2.
I have almost got the BCM out but struggling with the connectors.
Thanks for confirming BCM and gateway is the same module.
I have yet to take out Instrument Cluster. Does it share the same can bus as Infotainment?

Thank you for the information Pauly.
I have had out the head unit(radio), instrument cluster and BCM.
I have check the signal on an oscilloscope on head unit and there is ringing on transition but they are there.
I have checked continuity for both the can bus Infotainment and can bus dash from BCM and they are both good.
However both can buses appear open circuit between high and low. There is no 60 ohms. Should there be?
There is 65 ohms on ECU between can high and low.
I suspect the BCM which is a 7E0 937 090. Is this a reasonable assumption?
What is the best way forward if I suspect the BCM?
Any help would be much appreciated

that means the 60ohms with the two 120ohms in parrallel.

you need to test with no can data, so everything powered down and test with multimeter - DC resistance.

the T6 BCM is the start on the CAN with internal 120Ohm but im not sure what module has the other end 120 Ohm-

ringing data is normally a sign of an unterminated data line.

I tested with the battery disconnected. The ECU is good at 65 ohms but both the 'dash can' and 'Infotainment can' are open circuit.
I have watch YouTube videos which state that not all CAN buses are tterminated with 120 ohms. These are called star and ring.
Are either of these CANs non terminated.
The alternative is I might have started with a single fault that has caused further faults.

clear down all those old faults and start a fresh.
