Fuel Tank Inards

Has anyone taken a T6 fuel tank apart far enough to identify the sender mechanism inside. Is it a float mechanism or something different? I have a company who are willing to make a long range fuel tank but we will need to use the old mechanism to keep the instruments informed of the contents of the tank (I realise the ‘miles to empty’ reading will be wrong) any help would be appreciated.

Best thing for that is to buy a tank with sender unit from a dismantlers and send that to them......

There are some pics of the sender units....I'll dig them out later.

Its integrated into the fuel lift pump.

That’s helpful, I will be able to use the parts out of my own fuel tank when it comes out. I have found an engineering company who build fuel tanks for boats (big down here in Dorset) and a mechanic who will take on the spanner work, so far not had a quote on price, might have to sit down first ! ! !
