Fuel connector problem

Whilst on holiday recently, the fuel feed line under my van adjacent to the webasto auxiliary heater disconnected itself at the black connector shown on the pic. I pushed it back together at the side of the road but couldn't get it to click back in place and it pushed off again as soon as pressurised. I managed to secure it with cable ties and that got us home. Going to get her up in the air to repair now home but does anyone know how these connectors work and if they are prone to failure? Worst case is it a matter of new fuel lines? Screenshot_20250413_064014.jpg

Is this a T6.1? Looks different to my T6 from memory.
I managed to snap the connectors into the fuel sender like an idiot when fitting the fuel supply to my Wallas XC Duo (diesel hob/heater combo). Replacement fuel line was about £50 (genuine part), does require the tank to be dropped first to get access to the full run

Until I strip it down difficult to say - will advise later this week. Many thanks for the link

The pic is a bit of an optical illusion! The black connector in the foreground is the feed from the tank - this is the one that has failed. Behind the black, the blue return line had been split and a tee inserted for the night heater feed. This is a t6 with the auxillary webasto heater

You cannot tee into the return line - there is a non-return valve in the pump unit. ( Webasto, Eberspacher, Planar et al are erroneous in stating that you can do this! )
The tee should have gone in the auxiliary heater feed.

Thanks that makes it a bit clearer. If it's the female black connector that has failed, I think that means you need a new fuel line that runs over the top of the tank to the fuel sender

Hi @oldiebut goodie - I may be incorrect in saying that's the return line - that is pipework on the side of the auxillary heater that I was advised to tap into and may well be the aux heater feed - it's been like that for three years and worked perfectly.
Thanks @JLDD - I will know for definite later this week when I get the van in the air and split the connector

Change that Jubilee clip for a proper hose clip while you are there - they tighten in an oval especially in the small sizes and can lead to leakage.
