Added some dodo deadn to the plastic panel the speaker mounts to tonight. Only done one door so far but even doing that panel makes such a difference. Forgot to put some on the back of the door card so will do that next time i get 30mins free.

The issue is where the different parts of door cards are attached together. They’re plastic welded but they’re not tight so rattle. If you bang the removed door card it rattles. Filling the seams one the back of the door card between the different door card parts with tiger seal/sikaflex stops it.
Has anyone found a better alternative clip for replacing the stupid VW ones?
I wouldn’t go diving into spending £ on ‘quality’ speakers. I had a Audison fail (buzzing under any bass), contacted Customer Services, out of warranty….sorry.
Never been used in real anger.

Realistically you can't expect a door speaker to take the place of a dedicated sub.
I've got 8" Audisons in our T6 but they're crossed over to not play below 60 Hz as let's face it they're not running in a sealed enclosure so effectively flapping around in free air with only the speakers suspension ie. spider and surround to contain the voice coils travel.
T6 doors are a bit more speaker friendly than the 6.1 by the looks of it...

Found some clips made by febi bilstein, will try those and see if they are any better.
Yeah its all plastic on the T6.1
New speakers are in, went with some JBL Stage3 3-way speakers.
Getting the door cards back on is a pain, ran out of time so will have to try again another day when more clips arrive.

Be aware. Some of the after market clips are not even as good as the original VW clips!

Yeah I replaced them with new ones from vehicleclips. They just don't seem to fit the holes in the door.
Aftwr trimming the door card plastic speaker surround, is it worth adding a new foam gasket or not necessary?

No, I didn't when I did my t6.1 and it sounds okay. Having said that I supose it may sound better still if I did.
