Just putting new disc’s and pads on my 2020 6.1 Kombi 4 motion LWB and there seems to be a lot of oil around the shock on the N/S..

Is this normal amount or has the shock had its day?? (Please see pics)

Cheers for any advice offered.

It’s a very small weep that’s spread in the dirt to make it look worse than it is. I will only get worse so don’t wait for it to spray oil over the brakes.
In case you’ve been into a garage recently consider whether it may have been a mechanic squirting penetrating oil about.

I’ll give it a good clean and keep and eye on it.
It did have a Mot and service in Jan at the main dealer and they didn’t mention any leaks.

So I am on my third set on the front on only 46k.
They don’t have a hard life so very upset at replacing them yet again.
I have just replaced oem VW DCC set (£350 each and out of stock) with Monroe DCC at £200 each from Shocks Direct

I was concerned as non eom but they fit fine and 5 years warranty versus VW 12 months!

Have a word with one of the suspension specialists on here. They are removing OEM suspension regularly and should be able to supply at a fraction of the cost instead of scrapping it.
I can see it’s not a T32 as different design, the T32 shocks seem pretty reliable but that would involve changing the from hub and other parts, not really worth it.
