Footwell Lights > Courtesy And Ambient

Has anyone fitted footwell lights that operate as a courtesy light and switch to ambient when the van lights are on?
I'm assuming a simple micro change over relay could provide the switched earth (Brown/red) supply and switch to a permanent (resistance) earth for ambient mode.

Does the thread cover when you're driving along at night and the lights stay on but in a dimmed mod?

It would be tricky as you are trying to feed it from two different circuits, it’s possible but would need to use relays to keep the two feeds separate

Agreed. 1 relay to switch the existing courtesy hard earth feed and a 2nd separate lighting relay to switch the ambient earth.
