We get scared of commitment in case the weather is bad; fine on the last trip but the previous two we had to make serious diversions!

We do similar but mostly because you don't really know what an area or campsite are like until you get there - sometimes if we're disappointed we'll just stay the one night and move on, or vice versa.
When we went to a site at Zell in the Mosel Valley we liked it so much we stayed for the whole 2 weeks!
I'm not a fan of itineries and having to move on because we've booked somewhere else - I know it doesn't take long to set up a Cali when you arrive at a site but I wouldn't want to be doing it every day. We like to put down roots a little bit and do the travelling in big lumps so it doesn't take too much time out of the holiday but that's just us!

We were looking at this very same site a couple of years ago, looks spectacular
It's fab; shout if you need any info. Not cheap but worth it and nearby Llanes is nice too. Proper working Port town.

Californiaman; we try and stay at least two nights but if somewhere isn't good, we head on the next day. Our "record" is six nights so we rarely stay long.

That site looks amazing! We are looking to have a three or four week holiday next year in the van, and could use some advice if poss,

Is the boat trip to Santander ok? Have heard it can be a bit of a rough ride.

Do you plan to stick to the coastline and rock upto campsites that look good and are there plenty to pick from around that area?

We had planned to head towards portugal and then just turn back after two weeks, seems like a good idea anyway!

Hope your trip is a good one

This'll be our fourth trip; we've had two slightly bumpy crossings out of six. Travel pills help a lot!
We do tend to stick to the coast but dip into the mountains when possible.

We got to Portugal last year but found it very very busy and mostly on fire so we scurried back up to Galicia!

Galicia is great; really pretty, fairly quiet, great food and good wine. Oh and decent surf too!
