First time EV passenger ID Buzz

I was kindly collected at the train station when I went to pickup my van @ BMVS. They arrived in a glossy black and very low ID Buzz on big wheels. It looked really quite striking, as did the gorgeous sports steering wheel trimmed in black leather with red stitching. I was very curious having never ridden in any EV before. Being in the electric motor business I am familiar with the almost instant torque available. But the sheer grunt in this van was very impressive, as was the impressive ride quality. It managed to combine softness with firmness. For me I dont really have an issue with electric vehicles. Its just the charging time that I have an issue with. Although I do feel it wont be long before they crack that fully. Anyway just a few thoughts I thought I would put down.

I drove one of the early ones on a short test drive, really wanted to like it but it just felt so heavy despite the obvious instant power. Didn't buy one.

The charging fairies fill our tank with electrons while we sleep. Nice and easy. Its been that way on our main family car for a decade, so easy and hassle free.

If the Buzz had been a third bigger id have had one in a heartbeat.

Yeah they're not that big inside.

Aye, about a third smaller cargo capacity than a SWB T6.

Passed a few at 70MPH on the M4 on Friday, I reckon they were doing less than 60MPH, probably to keep the available range up in near freezing temperatures.

Or maybe they were in no hurry?

None of ours suffer ever suffered significant reduction in range during cold temps, even the Mini that had a tiny battery, and once on the move the battery warms up and conditions itself for normal performance anyway.
