Fault Code P24C6

Hi all

19 plate 150 DSG panel van.
Engine management light illuminated so in for diagnosis we went.
Diagnosed as Fault code P24C6 - engine logging fault with “temperature sensor for particulate sensor”
The garage were advised by VW to drill a 3mm hole in the DPF casing to allow condensation to drain away.
(Clearly a design fault that has caused the failure of the sensor in the first place, and a problem I see other t6 owners embracing in the future)
Sensor G784 must also be replaced. However I don’t have the £450 quoted by the garage at the moment and am concerned about further clogging the DPF as it won’t regenerate.
My only option is to pick up a sensor cheaper and replace myself.
I can’t find any previous threads but surely I’m not the first to experience this particular problem.
Has anyone solved this problem or know the order/part number for the replacement sensor?

Much appreciated

I am facing this exact problem now... and having been quoted almost double what you were...!! Where did you find the replacement sensor... I am currently looking for 04L906261G but can only find 04L906261K... Mixed info about these being interchangeable?

Also experiencing the same error code and also unable to find the 04L906261G sensor. Did you guys get anywhere with this?
Couldn't find the exact sensor online.

The letter at the end is significant regardless what companies selling them say.

The garage ordered the OEM part and the issue was resolved.

Not a cheap solution but had no choice.

£365 ish...
Direct from VW.

I was told i got the last in stoke in the UK... That was a few weeks ago.

However was advised a new one from Germany could take a couple of weeks?

Hopefully they have restoked here...
