External Hammock Connection Point

Hey all,

I’ve got a T6.1 and a 2-person hammock from Decathlon. I’ve seen quite a few posts about setting them up inside the van, but I’m wondering if anyone’s successfully attached one externally from the van to a tree or a post?

Is there a solid mounting point anywhere on the exterior (near a door, tailgate, or roof rail maybe) that could safely take the load of a hammock without damaging anything? Not looking to drill into bodywork or install permanent mounts unless it’s really worth it — just wondering if anyone’s found a clever solution using existing points or removable hardware.

Driver or passenger door latch or roof rack works for us, although we only use it for 1 person not 2.

Door latch is not a bad shout, I will give it a try. Its a 2 person hammock but no intention for using it with two people, It just so happens it has the right weight rating ^^.

If you have barn doors they also have latches at the top of the door opening.
