Engine knocking / Tapping - Potential DMF problem?

Evening all. I've recently noticed a knocking/ tapping coming from the engine which seems to be more prevalent when cold. After some research on this forum I suspect it may be the DMF, due to;

- Noise more prevalent when cold
- Noise goes when clutch is depressed
- Noise louder on passenger side.

I've attached a link to a video I've uploaded to Youtube and id be grateful if you guys could check it out and confirm my suspicions that it is indeed the DMF, or if not, help me diagnose it as something else. You'll notice in the video the noise goes when I depress the clutch and the noise is also more noticeable when I put the phone next to the passenger side wheel.

Id like some confidence that I know what the problem is before I take it to the garage.

Link to the video here:

Thanks very much for your help!

Certainly sounds like it.

And follows from what you would expect.

What's the van spec? How old, milage etc.

Here is my DMF just before it was replaced..... It's most noticeable ander the van by the gearbox.

Mines Dsg, but you can hear it stops when put in drive..... Same as pressing clutch on a manual.

Its a 2019 Highline with 124k on the clock, which again I think rings true for a van with that kind of mileage.

The noise on yours does sound similar.

Is there anything else worth having done while its apart do you think?

Cheers

As you're a manual,

I'd be put in a new three-piece clutch on there as well.

Maybe check the engine mounts front rear and side.

The Cambelt and water pump job is due at 140k but that's the other end of the engine
